I’m a husband and proud father of two.
I’ve lived in Cornelius since 1995. During that time, I have seen our population grow 400%. We have a great town and yet, I have real concerns. We just have to look around at other nearby towns to see that there are losers and winners of this kind of growth.
Professionally, I have developed the skills necessary to help companies capture and realize their vision. 15 years ago, I moved from employee to employer by using these skills and experiences to create and operate a vision for new logistics company and to serve our community.
Most recently I’ve served on the boards of the Entrepreneur Organization of Charlotte, YMCA’s Y-Guides and the Cornelius Planning board.
From these experiences, the common thread between failure and success has been the level of inclusiveness of the people most impacted by the proposed change.
I’m running for Town Commissioner because:
1) I’m concerned that our voice is not being heard.
2) I’m concerned that we are approving development without the full consideration to how we can support it.
3) Finally, I’m concerned we are at risk for losing our identity, the effectiveness of our schools and we are stretching our safety departments.
We loved making our truck drivers smile.
It's not really just about the tower. Its about the fact that they did not even consider alternatives or even have a plan. It passed without regard for the overwhelming negative impact to the surrounding neighborhoods the tower was supposed to help.
It is mind blowing that this is what we are offering our children and teachers for classrooms. The only thing more mind blowing is that the current Town Board is ok with contributing to this problem by approving more high density residential communities with no relief in sight.

We have to fix a broken process that is allowing projects to get to the Planning Board and Town Board without consideration to traffic, schools, and crime.
If you feel the same way, I want to amplify your voice!
