MICHAeL OSBORNE FOR CORNELIUS COMMISSIONER

MICHAeL OSBORNE FOR CORNELIUS COMMISSIONER MICHAeL OSBORNE FOR CORNELIUS COMMISSIONER MICHAeL OSBORNE FOR CORNELIUS COMMISSIONER

Meet Commissioner Osborne

MICHAEL OSBORNE

I’m a husband and proud father of two.

I’ve lived in Cornelius since 1995.  During that time, I have seen our population grow 400%.  We have had great success over the last two years, yet I still have concerns that need to be addressed.  We only have to look around at nearby towns to see that there are losers and winners of this kind of growth.

Professionally, I have developed the skills necessary to help companies capture and realize their vision. Twenty years ago, I moved from employee to employer, using these skills and experiences to create and operate a logistics company; today, I apply these same skills to serve our community.

I'm on a mission to make Cornelius the best lakeside town in NC. In my first three years as Commissioner, I've applied these same skills knowing our residents already have the answers - they just need the platform to be heard. I provided that through the citizen-driven Growth Management Task Force that created our region's first resident-designed Land Use Plan, and North Carolina's first community AI Summit via the Chamber where our community defined its own innovation future.

I'm running for two more years to ensure we preserve land for businesses and parks, not more apartments. We need to support our local businesses and create neighborhood gathering places like social districts, where neighbors can walk for dinner, kids can safely explore, and families can connect without driving across town. Using this same citizen-centered approach, I'll create a Business Prosperity Task Force where our business leaders tell us what changes they need—from permitting to policies to community support. When businesses thrive within walking distance, our entire community benefits.
